Infrared Thermography

We know that the upper cervical spine (C1 and C2) play a neuromechanical role in how the brainstem is functioning. Knowing that the brainstem regulates autonomic nervous system function, including blood vessel constriction/dilation, we can better understand when an adjustment is indicated in this neurologically delicate area. If the brainstem is in proper function, we will not adjust our patients in the upper cervical spine. However, if the brainstem is not properly adapting signals from the brain, we can implement better brainstem function through the specific adjusting of C1 or C2 based on our x-ray findings.

The brainstem also has 12 cranial nerves that can play a role in cervicogenic vertigo, trigeminal neuralgia, facial numbness, nausea, torticollis or wry neck etc. These are some of our favorite types of patients to work with!
